Delete your simpl.day account
Last updated: 24 July 2026
You can delete your simpl.day account at any time, from inside the app, without asking anyone. This page explains what deletion removes, what it does not, how to do it, and what to do if you can no longer sign in.
1. Two different things, so pick the right one
simpl.day keeps your life on your phone. An account is only needed for the optional shared features, so there are two separate controls and they mean different things.
- Delete your simpl.day account — removes the cloud account and everything shared through it. Your notes, tasks, people, photos and history stay on your phone.
- Delete all my data — erases everything on the device itself, including the backup file. It does not touch a cloud account.
If you want both gone, do the account deletion first, then the on-device one.
2. How to delete your account in the app
- Open simpl.day and go to Settings.
- Find the account area and tap Delete your simpl.day account.
- Read the summary, tap Continue, then type
DELETEto confirm.
The deletion runs immediately and signs you out. There is no waiting period and no way to undo it.
3. What deletion removes
- Your sign-in identity (the email or phone number you signed in with).
- Your connections to other people, and the shared history that went through them.
- Your encryption identity and the recovery-wrapped keys held on the server. Once these are gone your recovery key no longer opens anything.
- Your encrypted cloud backup and its saved versions, if you used cloud backup.
- Your notification (push) registrations.
- Anything you posted to the public feature-request board — your requests, comments and votes.
- Any waitlist or founding-member sign-up tied to your account email.
- Usage-statistics rows tied to your account, if you had statistics turned on.
4. What deletion does not remove
- Anything on your phone. Your notes, tasks, goals, people, moods, photos and your on-device backup file are untouched. Use "Delete all my data" in the app, or uninstall and delete the backup file in your Documents folder, if you want those gone too.
- Other people's content. Messages and entries other people wrote in a connection with you belong to them, so they are not deleted. Once your identity and keys are gone, that content can no longer be linked to you or read with your keys.
5. People you are connected to
Deleting your account ends every connection you have. Anyone you shared accountability or messages with will lose the connection and the shared history you had with them. They are not notified individually, so if that matters to someone, tell them before you delete.
6. If you cannot sign in
Deletion inside the app needs a signed-in session. If you have lost access to the email or phone number you signed in with, email clintonfernandes4u@gmail.com from any address, with the subject Account deletion, and include the email address or phone number the account was created with.
We will confirm ownership as best we can before deleting anything — that check exists to stop someone else deleting your account. Requests are handled within 30 days.
7. Retention after deletion
Deletion is immediate, not a soft delete: the rows are removed from the live database when you confirm. Ordinary encrypted infrastructure backups may retain traces for a short period before they roll off, and we do not restore deleted accounts from them. Anonymous, non-identifying aggregate counts that cannot be traced back to you may remain.
